This has probably come up before, but here goes: My wife teaches at a high school with two MacPluses. She has often had someone come up saying they couldn't run something, and found that the control panel had been fiddled with. The question is this: is there some means by which access to the panel can be blocked or passworded so that her little mutants\\\\\\\darlings can't get to it? She also has a ][GS, and the problem will probably apply there as soon as her kids figure out it has one as well. Please reply by e-mail ONLY; I'll summarize if interest warrants. Thanks in advance to all. The answer is simple IF she is using a hard disc or can control, to a degree, whats on the kids floppies. Set the control panel to where you want it then remove the control panel DA with the F/DA mover. If the kids get their system software from a single school source, remove the control panel before they get it & make sure they don't have access to the mover. If they already have systems with the c.p. provide them with a system upgrade (even if its just adding a few fonts. Just make shure the 'upgrade' dosn't have the c.p. installed. Hope the kids do not find out about cheapbeep Good luck, TeriAnn
