I have a Panasonic 1091 with the MAC IMAGEWRITER adapter set.

I have been quite pleased with its performance, although I suspect it
is slower than the real IMAGEWRITER. I had the printer from a past
home computer I had owned, and found that with the purchase of the adapter
kit, I was able to save a lot of money (~$500). I'm generally satisfied.

I mnight aloso recommend that you look into a converter called
the grappler (~$69) which will let the Mac print on many different
dot matrix printers.
