At work I have a Mac+ and a DataFrame 20 ... no problems or complaints. At home I have a Mac-512E ... still no problem but I would sure like to have a hard disk at home. Enter a Supermac Dataport add on SCSI board for my home Mac and a 'generic' SCSI controller and drive that I have scrounged together. I have a copy of the generic SF&I program that came over new a while ago and am able to format My generic drive just fine ... on the Mac+ but it won't work on my 512 with the Dataport board. The Dataframe 20 works just fine on the Dataport. The word I got from Supermac was that the driver must be carefully written not to use the physical address to talk to the SCSI chip but rather use a soft pointer since their SCSI board does not have the SCSI chip at the same physical address as in the Mac+. Surely someone out there in Mac Land has a driver resource for SF&I that will work with the Dataport. I would be eternally greatfull to anyone who would send me a copy or tell me where I could get one. Thanks Doug Doornink
