Here's an interesting bug I've found in the FullWrite Professional Demo. I'm running under System 4.2/Finder 6.0 (without MultiFinder) on a Mac SE with 2 floppies (FW Demo on one, system and documents on the other). The bug involves a problem with Help. To reproduce it: 1. Boot FullWrite Demo from a fresh copy (Help has never been used). Put the Help file on a third floppy. 2. Select Help from the Apple menu. FWD will ask you to locate the Help file. 3. Quit Help, FWD, and shut down. 4. Reboot and open FWD. 5. Select Help. The machine just freezes--the Apple menu is hilighted but nothing happens. I had to reboot. If the floppy with the help file is mounted when you select Help the second time there is no problem. It seems that FWD writes the location of the Help file and then bombs if it can't find it later on a mounted volume. To anyone with the Beta or Gamma: does this happen there? To anyone at Ann Arbor: this is just annoying, but could you please fix it? Other than that the demo is great, and I really wish the release version hits my dealer's shelves soon. Word is dead...:-) -- Brian W. Ogilvie "And in the end ogil@sphinx.uchicago.edu The love you take ...{hao,uwvax}!oddjob!sphinx!ogil Is equal to Voice: (312) 643-7419 The love you make."
