I'm getting a hard drive for my Mac II and have narrowed it down to either the CMS Pro 80 or the Jasmine 90. I'd really like to hear from anyone who has experience with either of these drives, especially DiskTimer II benchmarks. I'll summarize responses to the net if there seems to be a demand... Hi, some comments about Jasmine Drives: We have a 80Meg at work and I have a 40Meg at home. The 80 is a truely awesome piece of machinery. With the Mac II it's speed is blinding. My own 40, although not as fast because I have a Plus (and the 80 is a little faster), is also fantastic. The 40 is a little too quiet for my tastes: I like to hear when my drive is doing something. The documentation is very adaquate and from the limited experience I have had with the technical support, it is also good. It arrived via Fed Exp the EXACT day they said it would (about 2 weeks from when I ordered). All Jasmine drives come pre-formatted with 9 Meg of shareware software, most of which is worth keeping. They also come with a number of Jasmine utlities: Formatter, Mount, Park (the heads to automatically park on most of their models [all except the 10 Meg, I think]), etc. and backup software. The drive comes with: a quiet fan, air filters, a push-button selectable SCSI address, SCSI + power cable, two switched outlets in back of drive, a Jasmine Floppy and a removable panel on bottom for SCSI terminators. All in all: I HIGHLY recommend them: Buy one today!!!!! Good luck, Gray Watson p.s. no i'm not one of their dealers...
