[comp.sys.mac] SE Fan

mo@well.UUCP (06/29/87)

I've seen reference somewhere here about a MacDraw file showing
how to make the SE's fan quieter. From what I recall, someone
said that R31 on the analog board should be replaced with a
resistor between 4.7 and 47 ohms. I interpreted that to mean that
R31 is now 4.7 ohms and it should be replaced by a 47 ohm jobbie.

Can anyone confirm or deny this? The noise is driving me nuts!
I can only use the SE when the LaserWriter is on, too. I'd be
happy to summarize any mailed responses for the net.

Thanks for the dance.

I know that this topic has pretty much died, and I DONT want to revive it,
but if someone, anyone, out there in netland can mail me with what
was finally concluded, I would appricate it.

My Fan makes the noise, and, yes, the funny little movement in the upper
left corner....plus, it makes these sounds like it is straining every
now and then, which worries me.

What should I do?

Let me rephrase that, what should I do that will cost me very little?

thanks,
Scott
