[comp.sys.mac] Debuggers

acw@anumb.UUCP (a.w.wadell) (02/20/88)

I've been using LSC to write some MAC software and using Macsbug
(as little as I can get away with). I've decided to look at other
debuggers now, and have some questions:
I've heard that Think will have a source level debugger for
LSC out. Does anyone know about how soon that will be available?

What are people's feelings about TMON and MacNosey? Would it
be worth having one of (or both of) them in addition to the
	source level debugger?

Thanks

Accoring to things that have been said here on the net and elsewhere I
believe that it will be avialable around March->April. (Rich??)

I would whole heartedly recommened also getting TMON for there will
definately be times when the LSC debugger will not be usable. For example the
new LSC debugger will NOT be able to debug DA's, FKEY's, or INIT's. Therefore
you are going to need another debugger and I would say that TMON is the ONLY
way to go. In my time as a programmer I have used MacNosy, TMON and recently
even used The Debugger and therefore from experience can say that I don't know
where I would be without TMON.

(Disclaimer: I am good friends with the employees at ICOM Simulations, inc.
who bring you TMON and the MacVenture series of adventure games.)
