The new catalog is plugging their "Great Service" and their "30-day money-back guarantee (on top of the manufacturer's performance guarantee)" -- This is from "Icon Review Catalog" Spring 1988. From the Page 3 sidebar over the signature (and photo) of Dennis Moncrief, president: Order Risk-Free -- Your Satisfaction is Guaranteed Try any non-copyrighted product for a full 30 days. Really give it a workout. If you're not satisfied _for any reason_, send it back for a prompt refund or exchange. You can return copyrighted software during this period as long as the package is still sealed, so feel free to study any text on the box before you decide. . . . [emphasis theirs] [typos mine] I guess this means you can return a cable or a machine cover within 30 days. Hard disks? Gee, the instruction manual is probably copyrighted, so you can't return it if you opened the box. If I want to read the box, I can ususally go visit a dealer. Sheesh. (At least, they don't charge your credit card before shipping any more.) UUCP: {harvard, husc6, etc.}!bbn!levin ARPA: levin@bbn.com
