The Alumni department here is considering getting either a Mac system
or a PC system for use primarily in automating things like Alumni
reunions and other conferences. Such systems exist for the PC (one
they are looking at costs $3000), but we have not seen any for the
Mac. Does such a thing exist? It needs to be able to store information
on the individuals who are attending a conference and from that
information print name badges with multiple size fonts. The PC system
that they're looking at is called R/SCAN-M by Registrar Data Group in
Maryland. They even say they'll customize it for us (Canadianize it).
This is a bundled system ready to go and requires no additional
programming by the end user. I know it sounds like a typical database
but it does have specific features and abilities that the Alumni
Office wants.
Any and all info would be greatly appreciated. Please post directly
