peter johnson recently asked about merging two macwrite documents. he wanted an algorithm (preferably in TP) to do this. i'm confused. maybe i'm missing the point, but if all you want to do is append one to the other, simply do the following: - open the document to be appended. - select the whole document and copy it to the clipboard. - close the document. - open the first document. - position the insertion point at the end of the text. - select "paste" from the edit menu. - voila! does this help? rich
