Here's my latest problem... I'd like to be able to print using the ImageWriter's built-in 10 characters per inch near letter quality font, but it's not working. Here's what I've done: As the manual decreed, I set dip switch SW1-6 to the up/open position, which allows the IW to print in 10 cpi rather than the default 12 cpi. I put the printer in NLQ mode by hitting the Select button, then twice the Print Quality button, and again the Select button. Then I tried printing a file from both Microsoft Word and MacWrite with Draft mode selected from their ImageWriter dialog boxes. What I got was nice, crisp, _ 12 _ characters per inch near letter quality text in the IW native font! I wanted 10 cpi!! Is there a way to get it? Vital signs: System 4.2/Finder 6.0/IW 2.6/Word 3.02/MacWrite 4.6, Mac SE HD20, ImageWriter II w/ ROM revision 5.
