[net.music] How about discussing music in net.music?

Two of the thins about which I care passionately are computers and music...
at one time net.music (and net.records) were of deep interest to me. But I
just finished bypassing about 40 of the 50 articles in net.music because
I DON'T CARE ABOUT THE DEAD KENNEDY'S SONG TITLES OR OTHER CAREFULLY DEVISED
MERCHANDISING TRICKS!!!!!!!

Let us, please, discuss music. Allow me to launch some controversies:

1. Is John Cage a charlatan? (yes)
2. Are the Rolling Stones still interesting?	(yes)
3. Is Pink Floyd still interesting? (no)
4. Why is there no popular mainstream in contemporary classical music?
						(the best talent went into
							rock and roll & jazz)
5. Was Glenn Gould overrated? (maybe)
6. Is the Academy of St. Martin in the Fields, collectively, God?
						(yes)
7. Should the perpetrators of "Hooked on Classics" be shot after torture?
						(definitely)
8. Is the Clash breaking up? (sigh...)
9. Is ECM sound "perfect" or "sterile"? (love it)
