Open Word 3, select the Define Styles menu item, select the Normal style, select the Helvetica font from the Font menu, click on both the Define and Set Default buttons, click on the Cancel button, and Quit out of Word. Explanation: In Word 3, the default properties of text typed in come from the style Normal. Typically, other styles are defined on top of Normal, so if Normal is redefined, the other styles change correspondingly. The initial part of the procedure above is simply the procedure to modify the definition of the Normal style. Clicking the Define button causes the change to apply to the document you are working in. Clicking the Set Default button makes this default version of Normal used in new documents. (Old documents retain their definition of Normal unless you change them explicitly.) Note that variations on this procedure could be used to change your default point size, justification, spacing between paragraphs, indentation, tabs, etc. (This is all in the manual if you can bring yourself to read it.)
