[comp.sys.mac] SquirmTerm termcap entry

dubois@rhesus.primate.wisc.edu (The Other Me) (04/06/88)

If you use SquirmTerm as your terminal program when logged into a
Unix system through your Macintosh, you may have noticed that
such programs as "top" and "screen" either do not work properly,
or tell you that they aren't able to work because the terminal
capabilities are insufficient.

The termcap entry is as follows:

gt|grif|GriffinTerminal|Tek 4012 terminal emulator on Apple Macintosh:\
	:db:os:eo:bs:bc=^O:cl=\E^L:cm=\EY%+ %+ :co#80:li#26:\
	:sf=\EU:sr=\ED:kh=^A:nd=^N:up=^K:kl=^O:kr=^N:kd=^J:ku=^K:\
	:ce=\EK:cd=\Ek:al=\EM:dl=\El:ic=\EF:dc=\EE:

The os (overstrike) capability is the culprit. Take it out.
Everything seems to work alright without it, and "top", "screen",
etc., hum along beautifully.
