The Pro-80 has a 26ms access time, and if you're using a Mac II, you want all the speed you can get. If your machine will be paging (A/UX ?) maybe you should consider a 91Mb CDC-Wren type drive (16.5ms access time). I don't think you can find a cheaper quantum 80Mb drive than the CMS-80. And CMS is a very big, veteran drive maker for IBM-type PCs. I like mine very much. I paid $1219 last November, and it has been flawless. It has never given me problems. I suggest you get a utility called Utilsec's PRAMFix to save you headaches when your machine crashes. Often, when the Mac II crashes it destroys the PRAM. This is not the disk's fault. PRAMFix makes it very unlikely that the PRAM will be destroyed. Their SCSI utlitity seems fairly complete, and even runs in color on the Mac II.
