[comp.sys.mac] URGENT: A dying child needs us.

THCY@CRNLVAX5.BITNET (04/05/88)

The following has been circling the nets looking for kind-hearted people. If
you have not yet received this file, and are kind-hearted, please read it and
participate. If you received it earlier and haven't participated yet, here's
a reminder. If you received it earlier and HAVE participated, THANK YOU!
Please pass this along to as many others as you can, both on and off the nets.
And if you receive more than one copy from me, please accept my apologies.
It's because I want this message to get as far as possible.

I've just received some information regarding a little boy, who
users of the net might be interested in helping. If you think
it would be okay, could you mail a copy to all net users you
know personally, or post it in the news? Here is the letter
        I received.

David is a 7 year old boy who is dying from cancer. Before he does, he has
a dream of one day being in the Guinness Book of Records for the person
who has had the most postcards sent to them. If you would like to help
David achieve his dream, all you have to do is send a postcard to David as
soon as possible.

        Send to:
                        David, c/o Miss McWilliams
St Martin de Porres Infant School
                        Luton, Bedfordshire
                        ENGLAD, UK

Don't forget to sign your name.

                                                Thanks all! -jf

--------

This just may be one of the most worthwhile things you do this week, if not
for a long time. PLEASE take the few minutes this will take to send David
a postcard, and tell everyone you know they should do the same. Don't
forget AIR MAIL postage as appropriate.

The Human Adventure must never end.

I've seen this notice elsewhere on the net, and it has been followed by
emphatic messages NOT to do this! Evidently, no such child exists. Also,
Guiness has no category for recipient of most postcards and does not plan
to create one.

Just passing on what I heard elsewhere.
