We have been having an interesting problem here with a couple of Macintoshes in a small lab here on campus. Starting just a few days ago, we started having problems with a Mac Plus and a Mac II. They just refuse to boot up. We can insert a disk, the machine will smile, start to boot, then just quit and spit the disk back out at us. We originally thought that it was a virus, but I do not think that this is the cause. Reason: We realized that we were only having trouble with these two machines; the Mac SE in the same room works fine with the same disks. But then we also look at it and wonder how we could have a hardware problem with two machines at exactly the same time. The odds of that are kind of slim. The Mac II has worked flawlessly for about 9 months and the Plus has neven had a problem in the last 2 years. Any ideas???
