Just the other day I bought the MacSnap 548 from Dove Computer Corp. I installed it taking all the necessary precautions (grounding, one hand in pocket, etc), and on powerup my former 512KE, now a 2048K, boots ok. Problems start when I try to use the memory, it seems. 'About Finder...' tells me I've got 2048K. Great, I think, let's install a 1Meg RAMdisk with the software Dove supplies in the package. Works fine, I have a 1Meg RAMdisk, BUT, when I try to copy something onto it, >blooey!<. My Mac 'freezes' the cursor, and not even a push on the Interrupt-button makes any difference. Reboot. Even worse, not only does the RAMdisk work badly, but some applications that formerly runnes just fine, now crashes. F.i. File Maker, ZYX Prolog, LPA Prolog (whenever I try to expand evaluation space), MultiFinder. Programs that run OK are Coral CLisP, MS Word 3.01 and Lightspeed C, among others. Can anybody out there *please* give me a hint to what is wrong? The expansion was 389$ out my student wallet, and thats enough to by me food for 3 months. I'd hate to think it is wasted money.
