I'm also really interested in the Orange Micro product. However, I'm becoming very skeptical. First, their adds never give a sample of the print quality. Second, if you ask about the product NO ONE knows how well it works. As far as I know, NO MAGAZINE has reviewed it. If it really worked well, I think many people would own it and the magazines would have reviewed it by now. That's why I'm skeptical. The print quality is not the greatest, but I suspect that is the epson's fault. I would not hesitate the buy the 24 pin version, if I have a 24 pin printer. Bill Pearson wrp@virginia.EDU

Has anyone else used the Orange-Micro Grappler/Grappler LQ, OR the Softstyle Esptart, or Jetstart programs? What is the name of your product and the name of your printer? Did you bench the driver against any others? Are some drivers bad? 1. Do text and graphics come out just the same as on an imagewriter? Or does the printer occasionally "screw up" and print the graphics incorrectly? 2. What if you use a wierd font? Does it still work? What if you use a built-in font (like Roman or something)? Are the fonts proportional spaced, or do they use the built-in Epson/whatever fixed-spacing fonts for higher speed? Can the driver make use of a printer that stores downloaded fonts? 4. Is it slow? How long does it take to print a page of graphics in letter-quality mode? How fast is your printer rated in letter quality mode? 3. In retrospect, if you had no printer and were going to buy one, would you get an imagewriter II for $450, an IM LQ for $1000, or would you still buy the non-Apple printer and the grappler/epstart/whatever printer driver?
