[net.wanted] Info wanted on "The Final Word" word processing program

robbin@trwrba.UUCP (Robbin J. Brahms) (09/27/84)

I have used this and was also set to evaluate it for my area. I was
involved in an automation project for its use as a general all purpose
word processor.

What I found out was this

It has "EMACS" like command when inside the editor.

The word processing command are very similiar to
		SCIRBE commands.

It is not for the novice user.

I happen to love emacs and fell in love with this and "MINCE" which
is there flavor of EMACS for the pc.

The only problems are:

We determined it was not user friendly enough
for general population use (ie secretaries and
non engineering type users) (this is not meant to
offensive to anyone this is what we determined.)

Mark of the Unicorn will send you an evaluation copy complete with
a manual if you call them and tell them that you want an evaluation
copy for you company, they will not however give to individuals
call for person evaluations.

The manual is about 700 pages and not very helpful is the way it
is presented, you have to do alot of looking up to find what you
want.

They do offer a tutorial with the software which is nice but takes
some time to go through.

All in all we decided to go with WordStar for the PC's and XT's.

This is all, hope this helps you out.
