[comp.sys.mac] FullWrite ships

sysop@stech.UUCP (Jan Harrington) (04/28/88)

I had occassion to call Ashton Tate tech support this after (FullWrite
was acting very strange). The technician swore that Ashton Tate
sent out a press release today announcing that FullWrite actually began
shipping today. He promised that I would received a release version
in about a week (I was an advance purchase customer).

I thought you all might like to know this, but I'm such a skeptic that
I'll believe it when the UPS person actually brings it to my door!

Ashton-Tate announced it on Compuserve as well. They even had a person who
was willing to say it and put their name on it (the name was Quinn Wildman.
If it doesn't show, you know who to call). The disks are out of duplication
and all pre-orders should be in the mail by monday, according to him.

We'll see.

I called Ashton-Tate technical support about a problem
I was having with the style (bold, underline, etc.) of
outline headers. They asked which version I had and I
told them the "pre-release version" sent out in January.
They said the official release started shipping yesterday
(Thursday, April 29) and that I should kindly wait until
I got the new release before pursuing the problem.

I'll be watching for the UPS truck... :-)

Ed Esber announced at a marketing session during the recent
developer's conference that FullWrite had shipped. There was
scattered applause.
