[comp.sys.mac] VT100 Maculator problems/bugs

alibaba@ucscb.UCSC.EDU (Alexander M. Rosenberg) (05/05/88)

Ok, I like the idea. When I run the program, I have problems with
the display of characters/positioning in the window. I dial up
our school Unix system, and the Maculator draws the characters, then
erases them, right on the same line, nanoseconds after they are drawn.

It also advances the character position to the right as it goes.

The Unix system thinks that it is talking to a vt100, so what else is
wrong? I tried almost everything I could think of.

I have a Mac II (I tried mono mode...) I am using QuickerGraf, although
I am not sure that that could cause the problem.

I have the communications set up correctly. The terminal settings appear
in order. It just displays the characters all wrong. Any ideas?

Well, looks like the Mac II and Maculator don't get along..
I haven't experienced any of these problems on my Mac Plus,
directly connected to netsys at 9600 baud..

I suppose it's hard to write software for a machine you
don't have..
