Thanks to all those that responded to my question... I received about 12 responses all telling me about the vi-like editor named "z" that is part of the Manx Aztec C compiler and development package. Apparently z is not 100% vi, but it is very close. Also, it appears that one needs the Manx console driver to use z (comes with the package) and is not available separately. Thanks again...
