I received a 100MB disk drive, manufactured by Rodime, from Open Mac Enterprises. After reading the brief instructions, I installed the drive and tried to start up the system. The Mac didn't seem to find the disk, wouldn't boot until I put a floppy in the single drive. The hard disk was powered up and made sounds like the head was seeking, and the led flashed briefly every couple of seconds. After it booted from the floppy, the hard disk stopped seeking and starts to flash a code over and over on the LED: short-long-long-short (maybe 0110?). I tried to run the tester program, but it complained the cables weren't plugged in correctly. The formatter made the same complaint, even though both programs read the SCSI id correctly off the jumpers on the drive. I live in the area affected by the Hinsdale central office fire, so I can't call Open Mac during business hours. Any help would be appreciated. -- Dave Newkirk, ihnp4!ihlpm!dcn
