I think what you want to do is put BOTH paragraphs in a floating sidebar, and that should do the job. It's fairly easy, but it has a drawback in that changes to the text or the font size of the text will mean that you'll have to resize the sidebar. Hmm... a text sidebar that is "growable" would be nice, wouldn't it? "OW! Rubber spider venom!
