I bought a Mass Micro 32 Mb hard disk for my Mac(almost)Plus and hooked the sucker up to the SCSI port. It booted fine, so I copied MacWrite 4.5 to the hard disk and opened a document. Five minutes later the green activity light of the hard disk started to flutter off and on at an exceedingly high speed. When I exited Write, a message appeared, telling me that the Finder was damaged. It stayed in this perpetually fluttering state until turned off. I was able to reboot with the special disk that came with the hard disk, but the repair program on that disk could not detect the hard disk even though one was connected to the SCSI port. The Mac works fine, and I was able to boot from the floppy. Anyway, I contacted the manufacturer, who gave me some suggestions which I will try when I get home. A comment by the service guy prompted this posting. He says that he has encountered problems with MacWrite, namely dorking hard disk files. Has anyone heard of this? Does it sound plausible? Thanks for any help you can give me. Bill rupp/nosc.mil
