[comp.sys.mac] editing fonts

vespa@ssyx.ucsc.edu (Adam Alexander Margulies) (05/13/88)

I have tried using ResEdit to edit fonts. I have tried installing
resource types "FOND" and "FONT" but I have not been able to get the system
to recognize them.

If anyone can tell me what I am doing wrong, or send me a REAL
font editor I would be much obliged.

I said, type it NOW, Adam! || ||Adam Margulies |

y Altsys Corp.'s Fontastic for bitmap fonts or Fontographer for
PostScript fonts (and it will generate bitmap fonts from them). (Disclaimer:
I have no connection with them whatsoever)

The only decent Public Domain font editor I have found is PD FONTEDIT.
I don't think I'll be able to mail you a copy, but I'll post the authors
name and address... (or I'll mail)
