Some time ago I sent out a request asking for information concerning calculators. I was looking for a "credit card" calculator which did some scientific functions and also used reverse polish notation. I received many responses and some were asking for my results so I am posting them. Basically the only thing that comes close are the HP 10 series. These calculators are HP-10, 11, 12, 15, and 16. (Maybe others) I have (even before the request) a HP-16. This calculator is taylored toward programmers. The HP-15 is for EE types becuase it does complex math and also does matrix operations. The others are for finacial and general purpose. The calculator I bought is a Casio fx-450. This calculator does NOT do RPN but it is thin and small. It is also neat because it does almost all of the standard scientific functions as well as many programmer type functions such as AND, OR, XOR, .... It is not programmable. (The HP's are programable.) This calculator sells for about $20-$30. I am still looking for a calculator that does RPN. I have a great deal of trouble deal with non-RPN format but the size was more important I felt. Also the HP's sell for around $100 (some as cheap as $85) but still much more expensive than the Casio. If anyone knows of a calculator company that uses RPN (even if they do not make credit card sized calculators) I would like to know. (Besides HP) Perry convex!smu!pedz
