[comp.sys.mac] Bug in SoundMaster 1.1 cdev

bronxboy@ihuxv.ATT.COM (Nussbaum) (05/25/88)

Use SoundMaster 1.1 cdev once and the control panel never sees it again,
even though it's still in the system folder. As far as the control panel
is concerned, it isn't even there. This happens with and without
MultiFinder.

I'm using a Macintosh SE with 20 meg internal hard disk, 1 meg RAM,
System 4.2, Finder 6.0, MultiFinder 1.0 and Control Panel 3.2.

Please respond by e-mail to ihnp4!ihuxv!bronxboy. THANX!

Can you be a little more specific about your set up (particularly
any other INITs, etc. that you might be using)? I tried it last night
and didn't have this problem (I went back in and changed some of them).

I am running on a 512 upgraded to E, 2M RAM added, 20M serial MacBottom
running System 4.2, Finder 6.0, MultiFinder 1.0, Control Panel 3.2,
MFMenu+ 1.3, Suitcase, Pyro!, Vaccine (and probably something else
that I don't remember).

I did run into a little problem though that seemed to be a collision
between the Reminder? INIT (I got it off of GEnie a week or so ago)
and SoundMaster. When I had both of the in the System Folder, I got
dumped into MacsBug (oh, yeah, I'm running MacsBug don't know the
version number) with an ILGL error (illegal address?) when trying to
boot. Took Reminder? out and no problem (my occasions file is on a
different volume anyway, so the INIT does me no good, I just use the
DA). Anyone know if this is really the problem (I may have moved
some other things out of the System Folder at the same time because of
space problems, I wasn't paying as much attention at the time as I
should have)?
