[net.music] gang of four

comay (01/15/83)

I read somewhere that the Gang of Four's song, "I Love a Man in a
Uniform", was taken off the air (banned?) in Britain after the war in
the Falklands started last year. Does anybody really know what did
happen to the song? Any information would be appreciated.

To those people who saw the Gang of four(maybe gang of 2**2??)

i passed up seeing them this time. i did see them on there
last tour, songs for the free tour. I saw here at school,
and they were great!!! they have gone down hill a lot since thier
first album, but they were still going strong. Since sara lee
joined the group (after leaving the league of gentlemen, which depressed
me greatly) they have gotten tighter. When i saw them(oct 82), they had
5 people and were tighter sounding, but still played some great songs
(what we all want, outside the trains don't run on time, etc.).

The reason i did not see them this tour was the fact that the price to
see them was almost 15.00, which is way out of my league. i won't
see any band was costs more than 10.00 (if they charge that much,
they are really worth anything, some inverse law of musicans or something).

anyway, i would like to know what they played, how well did sara lee
perform when she was onstage, etc. it's too bad she wasn't involved
in too many songs, she is very good.

i welcome letters...
