[comp.sys.mac] Sound Manager

In the new release of the system software, the sound manager is implemented
for the lesser macs. What exactly does this do, anyway? How is sound
handling improved or changed?

Now all software that makes calls to the sound manager should run on all
Macs that are running System 6.0 (and assuming that the code specifically
checks to see if the sound manager traps are implemented, and didn't instead
simply check to see if the machine wasn't a Plus or SE, it should happen
automagically). Fer instance, the sound CDEV in the control panel should
now allow you to customize your sysbeep on all machines running System 6.0.
