Haven't seen anyone mention this on the net, so either everyone except me
has known that HyperCard 1.2 is out, or it hasn't been a Big Event. Anyway,
picked up my new version at our local User Group the other night. The
things I noticed most were the read-only implements, the increased search
speed (Yow! Focal Point's address book just zooms...), and some nice
improvements to the HyperTalk language. I particularly like how the "set
the cursor to <1|2|3|4>" has been changed to "set the cursor to
<ibeam|clock|hand|busy|plus|cross|arrow|none>". Little things like that
show that someone is continuing to evaluate the product and keep it in line
with the "HyperCard philosophy" espoused by its creators.
