[comp.sys.mac] Falcon and BDC do not work on System Version 6.0

rit@Coyote (Jean-Francois Rit) (06/11/88)

I try both of them on a clean (no INIT, CDEV, Ram Cache) fresh system 6.0 (on
my SE-HD20)... and they crashed, BDC does not really crash, it jumps back in
the finder, but Falcon crashes with error 10.

Anyway, people from Silicon Beach and Spectrum Hollobyte (sp?) please, give us
a patch... to make them run again.

By the way, I am still waiting for the Falcon version which is suppose to run
on appletalk and enable dogfighting with 2 users (perhaps even more)...

No problems with BDC and System 6.0 here, not even in MultiFinde
The only difference I noticed was that the 'moving fireplace'
animation didn't occur when CloseView was activated. (Ever tried
playing BDC that way? Every time you want to move your arm to throw
a rock, the zoomed-in screen scrolls ... sort of a Super-Advanced
mode.

There is a problem with some of the patches in System 6.0 leaving less space
available than Falcon requires. A patch, I am told, is in the works.

The two-player version is in late beta test. It is hot.
