Direct email bounced, so I'm posting this... --- In response to your query: 1) HyperCard could probably handle this on a fast hard disk, but it would be slow. I dont have direct experience with this yet, however. I will in a couple of months. If you go this route, please let me know what you find. 2) None of the databases you mention are really appropriate to the task. Of them all, Foxbase is far and away the best, but you really need FileMaker, since the task as you describe it does not involve a bunch of related files, but rather one large one. 3) For $4000 your best bet is to get a mac SE with TWO FLOPPY DRIVES and then get a third-party disk. I recommend CMS drives. Dirt Cheap, highly reliable, good software. You can get 60 megs for about $750 mail-order. Then get Filemaker, HyperCard, or FoxBase.
