[comp.sys.mac] Need a Mac II contour/shading plotting program

Attention Mac II graphics people ...

I need to locate a program for a Mac II that will take data and produce
some special kinds of graphs. The program should be able to do contouring,
smoothing, and shading of the graph based on the data put into it. It's
kind of hard to describe since I'm asking this for someone who does this
kind of thing on a Unix-based mainframe computer using a program called
"DI 3000" and wants to know if a Mac II could do it.

The sample graphs he gave me show multi-layered X-shape patterns
plotted inside circles. There are dark bands in the "legs" of the X with
increasingly lighter bands of coloring surrounding the darker bands.
Presumably, the graphs aren't limited to X-shape patterns.

I'm afraid that's about the best description I can come up with. Any ideas?
