Another problem with our new shipment of Mac SE computers. One user (a novice) wanted to save a MacWrite file on one floppy to another disk (both formatted.) Using a new SE with 1 floppy drive, she decided to open the document in MacWrite, use Save As from the file menu, and eject the floppy & insert the other disk. This of course brought on the series of "Please insert the disk ..." messages for about ten iterations. Then the SE locks up, in mid-message, with no cursor & no response to mouse or keyboard events. Is there a bug with the SE ROM, the new system (version 6.0), MacWrite (5.0), or am I missing something? Of course the work-around is to copy the file to the hard drive 1st. Still, I'm worried that this is a symptom of a bigger problem. I'd like to return the machine under warrenty if needed. And again, thank you for your support. -- Bill Douglass, TCADA "I dreamed I was to take a test, in a Dairy Queen, on another planet." L. Anderson

One additional note about the floppy shuffle problem - Once the machine locks up, the hard drive is trashed! Disk 1st Aid cannot repair teh damage, & the system no longer recognizes the hard disk volume. -- Bill Douglass, TCADA "I dreamed I was to take a test, in a Dairy Queen, on another planet." L.
