I got my upgrade notice last week and sent it back the same day with a check. I don't think $69 is even a little bit unreasonable. When I was selling my software mail order back in the early 80's, I often got calls from people who asked for free or discount software. It's worth a try, I guess, but companies are in business to make money, and to quote Barry Watzman: "It is a tried-and-true rule of business that you don't sell your product to the second-highest bidder." As for the hardware controversy; I've already got 2 Megs because I'm serious about this. If there were two of me, I'd be looking into MPW for its source control and other features. If I wasn't serious enough to buy enough hardware for a source-level debugger, I guess Turbo C would appeal. You get what you pay for, and the corrolary is that if other people are willing to pay more than you are, then they get it and you don't. /alastair/
