Pardon me for asking this question if someone else already has, but I need to know if the 150ns 256K SIMM chips I took out of my Mac+ can be used in a Mac II instead of 120ns ones. If not, what can they be used for? Please send mail because our news reader is down! Macintosh SE's ship with either 120ns or 150ns 256kbit DRAM's. You need to
look for a 12 or a 15 on the chips themselves.
Essentially, both chips (120 and 150 ns) are the same except that the 150ns
didn't pass all of the speed tests. You may be able to use a 150ns SIMM in
a Mac II but you do so at your own risk. 120ns SIMM's are preferred.

A dealer sent us several Mac IIs with some 150ns memory and they worked mostly, but we did have some mysterious problems. We made them give us 120ns chips, but can't say it made much difference.
