[comp.sys.mac] Need info about Mac II and "nonstandard" memory upgrade

peter@aucs.UUCP (Peter Steele) (06/29/88)

I have access to several 256K 120ns SIMMs and I'm wondering if
it is possible to take groups of 4 such SIMMs and mount them in
a "socket" that could then be plugged into the Mac II as a 1Mb
SIMMs. I realize space would prevent me from installing as much
as 8Mb, but I presently have only 2Mb and need more, preferably
4 or 5 Mb. Theoretically (as far as I know) what I'm proposing
should be possible. Can anyone provide me with additional details
on this idea? Any information would be greatly appreciated.
Since we're replacing our Vax with a Sun, we'll be without
Usenet access for a period of time starting June 30. Therefore,
if possible, please send any responses to my BITNET address.
Thanks so much.
