[comp.sys.mac] Basic Tips for Font/DA Mover wanted

davidl@inteloc.intel.com (David Levine) (06/23/88)

I'm teaching a class next week (June 29) on the Font/DA Mover. (This is
part of the Portland Mac User Group's "Mac College" series of introductory
classes.) I've been using the Mac since 1984, and the Font/DA Mover is so
basic to me that I'm likely to forget what it's like for a new user.

If you're a new user, or if you deal with new users a lot, I'd appreciate
it if you'd drop me a note with any REALLY BASIC information on the Font/DA
Mover that I might not think to mention. In particular, tell me about any
common questions or mistakes that new users tend to ask/make, or any really
fundamental "tips" that everyone should know.

Please don't post to the net; I assume that everyone who reads this newsgroup
is more advanced than my audience for this class. Also, don't bother replying
if you don't think it'll get to me by June 28.

Thanks in the proverbial advance,

	Very funny.

Just as I hit the 'F' key, we had an earthquake (4.5?), but I'm not going to
take the hint....

Why should he be joking? The Font/DA Mover is one of the least conforming
applications for the Macintosh ever released. It wouldn't be at all
surprising that a Mac novice would have to have it explained.

You haven't been around new users in a while, I presume. I did an hour
long, step-by-step explanation to 30 novice Mac users a while ago, and was
constantly surprised by the questions they asked. You can go home again,
but it's something of a shock...
