I would like to build a UK (or Australian) spelling dictionary for use with WriteNow. I have the 'Empty Dictionary' file, but want to avoid typing tens of thousands of words - especially when the vast majority of spellings are the same as the ones in the US dictionary. I also have Word 3.02 and its UK Dictionary. What I would like to do is either get the words from Words' dictionary into WriteNow (but the supplied dictionary is encoded or compressed in some way I haven't tried to figure out), or use Words' UK dictionary to find the 'mis-spellings' in a standard US dictionary. To do the latter I need to have a US dictionary in text (i.e. uncompressed) form. Then I just boot up Word, correct the spellings in the text file to UK forms, and import the corrected file into WriteNow's empty dictionary. Simple, if somebody can provide the input! (Needless to say, TMaker tell me they have no UK dictionary.) So does anybody in NetLand have: o a UK dictionary for WriteNow; or o a text version of a US dictionary; or o the magic spell to convert either a WriteNow or a Word (the standard ones, not the user ones which are easy to convert) dictionary into text form? Any help, pointers etc would be most appreciated. Rob Trevor MaBell: (609) 452-4051 Bitnet: 6029334@PUCC UseNet: 6029334@PUCC.Princeton.Edu
