I spoke with Rodime tech support this morning. They confirmed that their disk-driver does have problems under System 6.0; the symptoms match the behavior I had seen (can't initialize the disk under 6.0; can't run Disk First Aid 1.4). Their engineers are working to isolate the cause of the incompatibility. For now, the recommended fix is "Don't do that"; if it's necessary to reformat or erase one of these disks, do so under System 4.2 or earlier (boot from an old master floppy). Once initialized, the disks can be used under System 6.0 without any problems, they say (this matches my experience). The guy to whom I spoke confirmed a rumor I had heard... Rodime is some weeks away (perhaps two months) from releasing a formatter/installer for Rodime disks that will support disk partitioning. It'll be available through Rodime dealers. -- Dave Platt VOICE: (415) 493-8805 USNAIL: Coherent Thought Inc. 3350 West Bayshore #205 Palo Alto CA 94303 UUCP: ...!{ames,sun,uunet}!coherent!dplatt DOMAIN: dplatt@coherent.com INTERNET: coherent!dplatt@ames.arpa, ...@sun.com, ...@uunet.uu.net
