A few months ago I was looking for a synchronous serial comm adaptor for the Mac II and struck out, both here on the net and via our friendly Apple contact. The need has come back in spades, have I missed any product announcements recently? I would appreciate information. One comment previously was that the Mac serial chip could itself be programmed to run in synchronous mode, and that therefore a CI adaptor board is not necessary. Other opinion maintains that system considerations, i.e. real time constraints, prevent the comm chip from running at high speeds (64 kbps) synchronously. On the third hand, it obviously can run Appletalk (async?) at high speeds. Any comments? Thanks in advance, Dick Jackson Path: ..!{philabs|csun|psivax}!ttidca!ttidcc!jackson jackson@ttidcc.TTI.COM
