How do I get System 6.0? I got 5.0 Free with my Mac II... can I get 6.0 from

You can go into any authorized Apple dealer with 4 blank disks AND an original
system disk (dosen't matter what version) and they
will copy the new system for you. If you want the manuals, and
Apple labeled disks, it will cost you $50.00. If you received Hypercard
with your computer, you can update to version 1.2.1 the same way, take
4 blanks disks AND your original Hypercard disks into a Apple dealer
and s/he will copy the new stuff for you. New manuals or new Hypercard
will cost $50.00

BTW, the reason you are taking an original disk in is so the dealer knows
you own a Mac. I suppose you could take your Mac in, but the disks
fit in a shirt pocket :-).

I tried to get system 6.0 from 3 authorized Apple dealers in the Naperville
area. This includes the dealer I spent $5000 at buying a Mac II in March.
2 of the dealers never heard of System 6.0 and 1 had it but he said that
he "wasn't ready to distribute it yet" ( I don't think he was too busy, I
was the only one in the store at the time). I had better luck getting support
when I had my Atari 1040 ST ( mild :^) ).

I did manage to get a multifinder manual after 2 MONTHS of trying.

P.S. I have had similar luck trying to get Hypercard 1.0 upgraded.
