[ stuff about load/not loading inits deleted] I have a load of INITs, etc... on my 60 meg hard disk but only one meg of memory. I would love to have everything available all the time, but it can't fit (especially to run MPW compiling MacApp programs) so I came up with a good solution. Rather than open the system folder and move INITs in and out or try to remember how to disable loading INITs on boot time (ok, now I hit the shift key so this one gets skipped, but quickly let up so that the next one gets loaded, and wait, what's up next, and do I use the command or the shift? Oh no, my program just crashed, I have to go through this all again!), what I did was set up a HyperCard stack to do it for me. I have different cards for different configurations, and I just click a button that move appropriate files into/out of a folder in the system folder. I then reboot with exactly what I wanted. Total effort, 3 extra mouse clicks (one to run the stack from Oasis, one to execute the appropriate set, one to quit HyperCard). Oh, and one menu selection to reboot. If any one want's a copy of the stack, drop me a line. Yes, I did send it off to comp.binaries.hypercard, where it will never be seen again. I realy did send it to the moderator. No comment about mail not being recieved either. Does that newsgroup actually exist? =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= = "When I was young, all I wanted was to be | - gandreas@ub.d.umn.edu - = = ruler of the universe.
