I am interested in buying a MacIntosh SE and have been looking at prices. I've noticed that the list price hasn't changed since the machine was introduced almost 1.5 years ago. The tendency in the past has been for the price of computers to drop over time. It can be argued that this decline has slowed or stopped because of the shortage of chips and the resulting quadrupling of their price. I'm willing to accept all of that but there is another variable in the equation... the value of the Canadian dollar. It has increased in value by at least 10% over the past 1.5 years. Therefore I argue that the price of the machine should decrease by a similar amount. Anyone at Apple Canada listening???? An interesting kicker... just a day or two ago I read a report in the paper that Apple has had a banner year, nearly doubling their profit. Foreign sales have been particularly good. john hofbauer
