Just how many different species of ADB mice does (or did) Apple make? Recent postings have referred to mice with different combinations of plastic and metal rollers, different ball cavity sizes, different ball textures, and different button tensions. I really like the mouse which came with the SE I purchased last year. It has a black plastic gasket (the thing that holds the ball in place), all three rollers are metal, and the button has light tension. The mouse for the Mac II I just purchased has a white plastic gasket, two metal and one plastic (the one with the spring) rollers, and a much stiffer button. However, the mouse balls appear to be the same. Both mice have the same Model No. A9M0331. I heard mention in this group earlier in the year about a new, smaller and lighter weight mouse. Whatever happened to it? Perhaps Apple should knock $100 of the price of their CPU's and sell the mouse as a separate item, as they do with the keyboard.
