[comp.sys.mac] MacDraw II Printing Problem

dtw@f.gp.cs.cmu.edu (Duane Williams) (07/21/88)

I used the text tool to create a small rectangle in MacDraw II (running on a
Mac Plus with 2.5MB in an 800K partition). I entered a few random sentences
in Palatino 12 with the style set to "Left". I used background printing and
shipped the file to a LaserWriter Plus via CAP software. It printed
correctly. I then changed the style of the text to "Justified" and again
printed the document. The text came out compressed horizontally into about
half the space of the original rectangle. It was justified, but the letters
overlapped. (What a mess!) Has anyone else seen this problem?

YES but under different circumstances. I was using Helvetica 12 with style
of center. Printed to file (clover F) and then shipped (via unix) to LW+.
I had some rotated (90deg) text in drawing so I thought that might be cause
of problem.

I determined I needed to make my drawing larger (to include more detail in
new layers) so I stretched it to double size and changed all text to larger
font (don't recall what?). When I printed it (2x2 pages) same text problem.
However when I printed it using the 50% setting in Print the text came out
ok! Anybody know what's going on?
