Does anybody know of a free d/a of fkey that can be used to black out the screen? I am not looking for a screen saver. My situation is that I am using an overhead projector for transparencies and a lightvalve for projecting the Mac onto a single screen. When I want to use the overhead, I would switch the mac to black and use the overhead. When I want to use the Mac, I would click, the Mac screen would come back to life (obvious an fkey would work as well as a da here.) and I would turn off the overhead. Any suggestions? -Mark PS: turning down the Mac's screen intensity does not affect the video output generated by Cinemac, and so that is not an alternative.

I have an FKEY, I will binhex it and post it for you. Mark Cookson

Pyro! is a screen-saver with a nifty feature--you can activate it immediately by putting the mouse in a particular (user-definable) corner of the screen. Perhaps other screen-savers which _are_ in the public domain have this feature, which you could use for what you want. /alastair/

In fact, yes, there are several -- Moire, Fade to Black, Autoblack, etc. Almost everyone has got the idea of that feature... Don't install more than one, though, it really makes your screen go wacko, esp. under Multifinder!
