Here's a summary of the jamming solutions I recieved: -Always form feed before printing -Get the metal foil out-of-paper-detector upgraded to an optical one. The person who mailed this said it cost him $40 (Canadian) + 1 hr labor. -Buy a sheet feeder. Several people on a local BBS said this solved all their jamming prblems and saved them money on paper. (I guess xerox paper is cheaper than tracter feed) -Suspend imagewriter upside down against the wall (facing out of course). This straightens out the feed path for the incoming paper and provides more uniform tension. Is it true that the out-of-paper-detector is responsible for the jamming. If so, couldn't I just remove it? -ME

One of the suggested fixes for the imagewriter II paper jams was to get a sheet feeder. It was also noted that the paper costs were less since you could probably use xerox paper. In our experience the sheet feeder does not work with xerox paper. Ours have only worked reliably with high quality bond paper. Our sheet feeders are early versions so maybe they have been improved. You save money by using every sheet instead of one sheet in 10. Richard Crispin Dept. of Psychology Bitnet: psych@watdcs University of Waterloo Unix : psych@watdcsu.UWaterloo.ca Waterloo, Ont.
